The Geography Department
currently supports two specializations in Geography:
1) Geography
2) Geographic Information Science
and Computer Cartography.
Students specializing in Geography will be exposed to
a diversity of coursework that will focus on human-environmental interactions,
and will also develop an area of concentration in Geography, such as urban
geography or biogeography. The Geographic Information Systems and Computer
Cartography specialization emphasizes the applications of geographic
technology, such as remote sensing. Follow the links below for complete

· Geographic Information Science
If you are interested in
both specializations, you can complete both sets of curriculums. If your
primary specialization is Geography, you will earn a Bachelor of Science in
Geography with a specialization in Geography. In completing the curriculum for
the GIS and Computer Cartography specialization, you will also earn the GIS
Minor and a departmental certificate that will enumerate your additional
coursework. If your primary specialization is GIS and Computer Cartography, you
will earn a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a specialization in GIS and
Computer Cartography. In addition, you will be awarded a departmental
certificate enumerating the additional coursework in Geography. See the

The Geography Department is
also part of the Environmental Science and Policy (ENSP) program, a new
multidisciplinary degree on the
