Source/Remarks:This dataset consists of 1040 station records, obtained on diskette from Sharon Nicholson. The original Nicholson dataset has records for 1338 stations. The standard reference period for monthly long-term means was 40 years, 1941-1980. Monthly rainfall for years 1980 - 1990 (the coverages "nich1980" through "nich1990") is fairly complete for earlier part of decade, but spotty for later years.
