Admissions

STEP 1: Qualifications

The Graduate School requires all admitted graduate students to have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in another country. A GPA of 3.0 is normally required for admission into this program.

It is strongly recommended that students have had:

  • Introductory course in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems
  • An introductory course in Statistics

Students accepted without this background may be required to take specialized prerequisite courses during the summer preceding their first term. These prerequisite courses do not count toward the degree. GRE is not required.

NOTE: International students are required to submit scores from the TOEFL exam. Also, the visa category to which international students should apply is J-1 and not F-1.

STEP 2: Application Deadlines

Deadline dates:

Students are admitted to the program only for the Fall Term.

  • Deadline for applications for International students: January 15
  • Deadline for applications for U.S. citizens and permanent residents: Mar 15 *
* U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have completed the prerequisites (see Qualifications below), may apply as late as August 1 and will be considered as long as there is room in the program. However, earlier applications are encouraged.
