The Department of Geography has been approved as an ESRI Development Center (EDC). There are substantial benefits to receiving this designation.

• Full ArcInfo licenses for students enrolled in the EDC programs for educational use on their personal computers
• Ten subscriptions to the ESRI Developer Network
• Permission to use the ESR EDC logo on promotional materials
• Two complimentary registrations to the ESRI Developer summit
• Student of the Year award certificate and plaque
• Two complimentary ESRI instructor-led courses per year for EDC faculty or staff
• Special recognition for students completing EDC programs when applying for ESRI internships

Note that the programs included in the EDC are not only the MPS-GIS prgram but also include the MA/PhD in Geography for students specializing in GIS and also the undergraduate GIS minor/specialization. Hence many of our students will benefit from the EDC designation.
