Successful Career Fair and Open House

The spring semester Geography Department Career fair was successfully held on April 13, 2007. A total of 11 recruiters from various agencies and companies in the metropolitan area presented information at the fair. There were even four new recruiters in addition to the regulars from previous fairs: City of Laurel, National Park Service, A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc., and Clara Barton National Historic Site. Approximately 75 students attended the fair.

Also, an Open House was carried out in LeFrak room 1171. More than 8 faculty members and approximately 80 undergraduates in the department enjoyed the event. John Townshend, chair of the department, made remarks at the beginning of the event. Ralph Dubayah, the graduate director, briefly talked about the upcoming MPS program starting in the Fall semester of 2007.
