Lecturer and organizer of this year’s Study Abroad program in the Caribbean, Joe Trocino, has generously donated a globe on behalf of the Geography Department for Catherine Case’s fifth grade classroom of Diven Elementary School in Elmira, New York. Diven Elementary teaches some of Elmira’s most underprovided children. Joe presented the globe to the classroom and followed with a presentation on geography and slides of pictures from the Study Abroad travels. The globe and presentation was a thoughtful and significant gift for a classroom of students eager to learn about the world, but many having never left the Elmira City limits.
