Professor Eric Kasischke has been appointed to the US Carbon Cycle Scientific Steering Group. The purpose of the CCSSG is to provide broad, scientific and stakeholder input to the U.S. Climate Change Science Program (CCSP) as it coordinates carbon cycle science and applications within the U.S. federal government. The goal of U.S. carbon cycle research is to understand the fate of carbon in the environment and how cycling of carbon might change in the future, including the role of and implications for societal actions. The CCSSG is responsible for providing inputs to ensure that the U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program remains coherent and addresses its science questions in an integrated way.
