Ryan Pavlick Wins International Max Planck Research School Fellowship
|
Geography Masters student Ryan Pavlick was awarded a fellowship to attend the doctoral program of the International
Max Planck Research School for Earth Systems Modelling. The fellowship provides
financial support including a stipend, academic costs, and travel support over
the course of the three year PhD program.
"The IMPRS on Earth System Modelling (IMPRS-ESM) is a multi- and
interdisciplinary doctoral program that associates several German research
institutions. Students contribute to the development and application of
numerical models of different complexities, including natural aspects as well
as the human dimension. Through the development of integrated earth system
models the IMPRS-ESM contributes to an improved understanding of the global
environment and the prediction of interactions and feedbacks in between the
individual components of the Earth system. An interdisciplinary and
international group of scientists and doctoral students participates in the
Research School, addressing vital research questions on global environmental
change."
