Dr. Roger Downs, Professor and Head of the Department of Geography, Pennsylvania State University, and Dr. Michael Goodchild, Professor in the Geography Department, University of California, Santa Barbara, will be the featured visitors at our department's Fall 2002 Distinguished Visitors Series. Dr. Downs will lead off the Series on Oct. 9-11 and Dr. Goodchild will be here on Oct. 23-25.
Dr. Downs will give the department seminar on Oct. 10, and Dr. Goodchild will follow on Oct. 24. The department seminar is held in LeFrak Room 1124 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and is open to the public. A special invitation is extended to our alumni. In addition, Drs. Downs and Goodchild will meet with the Chair and department faculty, individually and in groups, to develop linkages and explore collaborative possibilities during there visits. They will also meet with the department's graduate students for question and answer sessions during this time.
