Q: Do I Need to Make Backups of My Data?
A: All Geography Department users are given 25 megabytes of data storage in the /homes directories. Homespaces that are located on the GLUE server are backed up nightly by GLUE - to obtain file retrieval , GLUE must be contacted at request@glue.umd.edu.
Class workspaces are backed up by the Geography department.
If you are storing data elsewhere, such as on a disk maintained by a research group, data backups may not be automatic. Contact the research group PI or the technical liason for information about backups.
