Using FTP on Geography Server

The department has ftp server catering to both anonymous user and glue user needs. Follow the directions as below to access/retrieve/move data.
For ANONYMOUS:
ftp ftp.geog.umd.edu
username: anonymous
password: your e-mail address
cd pub
and then cd to the directory you wish to go.
Please use ls -al instead of just ls to list the directories.
To move your data to anonymous ftp site, at the UNIX prompt of your home space:
cd /data/geogdftp/public/username
and move or copy your files.
For GLUE accounts:
Follow the same procedure as above but login with your glue userid.
To move your data to glue space:
cd /data/geogdftp/ftp/usernamePLEASE DO NOT LEAVE HUGE FILES TO ENABLE OTHER USERS USE THE DISK. THE DATA CAN BE PURGED TO FREE UP DISK SPACE. THE DEPARTMENT DOESN'T MAKE BACKUPS OF THE FTP DISK.
