Q: Certain programs, such as Adobe or Firefox, will not open. What should I do?

A: The most frequent cause of such problems is that your personal glue space is past its quota. Every Glue account has 200 MB of memory that will travel with a users account. This means that any information saved in this glue space on one computer will be available to that user on any other computer that is logged into with that Glue Account.

If this quota is surpassed, then certain applications, like Adobe and Firefox, will not open. To check your quota, open My Computer, and right-click the H drive (which represents your glue space for all geography open lab computers).

Highlight AFS, then Volume/Partition, and select Properties.

In the Window that opens, you can see the quota for your glue space, the amount of memory used, and the percentage of your glue space used. If the usage is equal to 100 percent, then this is most likely the source of the problem.

To fix it, simply navigate to your H drive and clean the space by either moving files to another space, like a personal USB drive, or deleting unneeded files.
