Q: How Do I Get Backups of One Day Old Homespace Files?

There is always a one-day backup copy kept of all homespaces stored in AFS. A copy of made of everything late in the evening, which is then stored in
    ~dthompso/../backup/home
until the next evening, when it is written over. You can retrieve whatever files you need yourself.
    cd ~dthompso/../backup/home

    cp needed-files ~dthompso

To get yesterday's files, make sure you do this today. Otherwise the files will have to be restored from tape, which will take much longer. If you have trouble, please call the Help Desk at x51500.
