Q: Why won't my postscript file print?
A: There are several possible reasons why a postscript file might fail to print. The most likely reasons are listed below. If all else fails, recreate the file.
- The printer queue often refuses files saved in enhanced postscript. Please be sure that your file is in the basic postscript format before sending it to the printer.
- Always preview postscript files in a viewer such as XV or GhostView to ensure that they are not corrupt. If you cannot preview your file, you will not be able to print it.
To preview a file in XV type:
xv filenameTo preview a file in GhostView type:
gv filename
- If you are near your quota limit, you may be running out of room when you try to create a postscript file. Check your quota and delete files if necessary to allow adequate room for the postscript file.
