Education

Ph.D.  University of Cambridge (UK), 1993
M.Sc.   Remote Sensing and Image Processing Technology, University of Edinburgh (UK), 1988
B.Sc.   Geophysics, University of Lancaster (UK), 1987

Research Interests

  • Development of remote sensing and advanced computing methods for mapping and characterizing terrestrial change
  • The causes and consequences of land use change and fire in Southern Africa
  • Methodologies to facilitate the transfer of remote sensing products into the user domain, for example by facilitating regional networks such as the Southern Africa Fire Network (SAFNet)
  • Quality assessment of moderate spatial resolution terrestrial remote sensing products
