Sligo Creek Sub-Watershed

The Sligo Creek Watershed is found in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties, Maryland as well as the District of Columbia and is primarily located within the piedmont although it does discharge into the Northwest Branch within the coastal plain physiographic province.

This Watershed is highly urbanized with few natural areas. It is dominated by commercial, urban, and medium and high density residential land cover types with the only natural areas existing in the riparian zone.

There are only two wetlands detected by the National Wetland Inventory within this Watershed. Much wetland area was most likely lost to urbanization.
