Impervious

Field used to represent the percent impervious surface within the watershed

Tree Cover

Field used to represent the percent tree cover within the watershed

Hub, Corridor, Developed, Agriculture, Barren

Fields used to represent the percent respective Green Infrastructure within the watershed

Current, Managed, Ecologic

Fields used to represent the percent protection under each respective exclusion scenario for the SLEUTH Model.

The level of impervious surface and forest cover are important factors in flood and erosion control, water quality protection, and wildlife habitat. The highlighted watershed boundaries represent potentially healthy or unhealthy watershed. Zonal statistics were calculated, using RESAC 2000 percent impervious surface and percent tree cover data, summarized within zones of 8 digit Maryland watershed boundaries. potentially unhealthy watersheds were selected out based on the conditions that they had high percent mean impervious values and sparse tree cover. potentially healthy watersheds were selected out based on the conditions that they had low percent mean impervious values and abundant tree cover.
