Adjunct Faculty: Norman Rosenberg
Norman J. Rosenberg, an agricultural climatologist, is Laboratory Fellow Emeritus in the Joint Global Change Research Institute, a cooperative endeavor of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the University of Maryland. Prior to joining PNNL in 1992, he was Senior Fellow and Director of the Climate Resources Program at Resources for the Future, a Washington, DC ‘think-tank’ and before that a Regent’s Professor and Director of the Center for Agricultural Meteorology and Climatology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Rosenberg’s research has dealt with evapotranspiration and photosynthesis, irrigation, microclimate modification, drought management strategies and, most recently, impacts of global climate change on agriculture, water resources and unmanaged ecosystems. He is now working on mitigating climate change through carbon sequestration in soils and biomass production to replace a portion of current fossil fuel use. Rosenberg is the author of 200+ journal papers and books covering the above-mentioned subjects.
