Rural settlements and farms of Uganda were photographed from low flying light aircraft in 1963. ( A few areas were missed for reason of logistics or lack of flight permission:  including the foothills of the Ruwenzori mountains in far western Uganda and  the area along the border with Kenya from Mount Elgon north to Moroto, Karamoja in the east.)

The landscapes are shown in some detail, and include  houses, granaries, crops in field, occasionally livestock and corrals. Photographs, with  limited annotation, were compiled into a catalog; The West Nile images shown here are from that catalog. Aerial views are often confusing so to clarify them  ground based views of houses, granaries and other items from neighboring settlements of the same cultures have been added.
